Replacing fluids alongside food that naturally contains electrolytes is more effective than water alone for ordinary recovery. Severe vomiting, confusion, very dark urine, or muscle cramps that don't settle after drinking are signs worth taking seriously and discussing with a doctor rather than managing alone — these can indicate an electrolyte imbalance significant enough to need medical correction. Reducing how much and how often you drink is, over time, the most direct way to stop this cycle from recurring.
