Inflammatory markers are genuinely responsive to reduced drinking — several studies following people who cut back or stop have found measurable decreases in inflammation markers within weeks to a few months. This is one of the more evidence-backed, if under-discussed, reasons drinking less tends to leave people feeling generally better, beyond the more obvious effects on sleep and energy.
